Italy, electricity consumption rises 1.7% in December

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Italy’s electricity consumption rises 1.7% in December 2017 compared to December 2016.

According to Terna, the company that manages the national electricity grid, electricity demand in Italy stood at 26.9 TWh.

According to the provisional data processed by Terna, Italy’s total electricity demand in 2017 amounted to 320.4 TWh which is the highest figure since 2013.

Nationally, the December 2017 trend was positive everywhere and essentially in line with the national average across the country: +1.7% in the North, +1.5% in Central Italy and +1.8% in the South.

In December 2017, 87.6% of electricity demand was met by national production and the remainder (12.4%) by the balance of electricity exchanged with foreign countries.
